This year’s Victory Day Celebration took a spectacular turn as Lakeshore Hotel Gulshan 2 was buzzing with excitement on December 16, 2023, as it played host to the Victory Day Spelling Bee 2023 competition. The event which is the first of its kind, was proudly sponsored by Olympic Foodie Instant Noodles and was organized by, Edupro Concepts Bangladesh Ltd (a Concern of First Love Centre) in collaboration with Help The Future.
The prestigious occasion witnessed an array of distinguished guests, each adding their unique touch to the event. The Executive Director of Edupro Concepts Bangladesh, Ms. Juliana Lawson, in her opening address honoured the memories of the nation’s heroes and stressed the need for children to prioritize co-curriculum and extracurricular activities as part of their academic journey. She also called on children to be advocates for peace before, during, and after the elections as they are most affected in the case of unrest. Her remarks set the tone for a morning filled with inspiration and celebration. Mr. Saifullah Khaled, the Founder of Help The Future- HTF, delivered a warm welcome speech, emphasizing the significance of commemorating Victory Day and fostering educational initiatives in Bangladesh.
The Special Guest Mr. Almeer Ahsan Asif, Deputy Chief of Party at USAID Bijoyee Activity, urged contestants to be very focused and take advantage of the opportunity to develop their speaking, and thinking capabilities. He also encouraged all contestants to have a vision that drives and motivates them beyond gifts.
The occasion also welcomed Md. Raihan Ahmed, Assistant Manager-Brand at Olympic Industries Ltd., presented awards to all contestants who participated in the contest. Olympic Foodie Instant Noodles, as the title sponsor, played a pivotal role in making the event a resounding success, demonstrating their commitment to quality education and community engagement.
Other speakers included a video message from Dr. Girija Singh, MD of MaRRs Intellectual LLC- UAE, and Samiul Haque Rhydoy, Manager at Interport Ship Agents Ltd Bangladesh. Mutual Trust Bank PLC supported this event as well.
The highlight of the Victory Day Spelling Bee 2023 competition, was the showcasing of linguistic prowess of students from various schools in Dhaka. The competition comprised three rounds, each designed to challenge and test the spellers’ skills.
After a nail-biting competition, the top three contestants emerged victorious:
1. First Place: Jiad Al Hasin, Student of Vision Global School.
2. Second Place: Ayesha Bushra Kabir, Student of Daffodil Intl. School
3. Third Place: Nirjhora Tabassum Sneha, Student of Vision Global School.
All contestants have the opportunity to take part in the International Spellathon in Dubai come February 2024.
